Rush is currently on tour, in support for their latest album "Snakes and Arrows." I just saw them in concert three weeks ago [my third overall] @ Jones Beach. Despite all these years, these guys are still rocking hard; their sets tight; Geddy with his ability to turn that bass, not just as a rhythm instrument, but an instrument that could stand entirely on its own; the screaming and swinging arpeggios of Alex; and Neil is still one heck of a drummer/percussionist.

I was first introduced to them in the early 80s when I heard "Spirit of Radio." It was later followed by "Tom Sawyer" on the radio and I knew that these guys were extremely talented. Purchased their albums, but it would take me a few more years before I get to see them in a live performance.

I first saw them live at the Montreal Forum, in support for their Presto album. I was told that it would also be the last time I would see Geddy playing more keyboards than bass. Oh yeah, the lazer effects were awesome, and it was quite fun to see giant rabbits come out of a magic hat and let them dance on stage.

I would see them again four years later at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY during their Counterparts tour. The lazers were gone; Geddy played more bass than keyboards; and they turned to a harder, edgier, guitar-driven sound. Still an overall awesome performance.

If they ever come to your area, do check these guys out. Their live shows are well worth the 60 bucks you'll spend on a ticket.

the closest they're coming to me is red rocks in denver and tickets are all sold out. i found some on ebay but they're a lot. but i would love to see them. i wish they were coming here.
