| | | I think Babel and Crash were very similar in that the idea of the movie was to illustrate how lives are interconnected. This one was on a global scale, though, rather than communal. I don't know if it is on video yet - I saw it in a theater a couple of weeks ago.

liked Crash, but my problem with it was that it had one message and it spent over an hour and a half trying to hammer that home. Babel was far more layered and I think better because of it.
The view you got of the different cultures was also really interesting. It's not often you see Japan through the eyes of a deaf-mute.

| | | I haven't seen The Prestige, but I did see The Departed. And between Babel and The Departed, I'd have to say Babel was the better movie. The acting was better in The Departed, but the story wasn't as strong as Babels'.
