One of my favourite artists, Zdzislav Beksinski.
Some style examples:
Guy never travelled and was stabbed to death in his own apartment by some usual thiefs. Anyone who knows Soviet times, has lived in its architecture and has beared the post soviet social footprint, probably sees some atmospheric connections in his works. He never had any meaning in its pictures, any goal, he just painted what he felt, what he saw, the footprint in his imagination.

yes Frasb, Giger is another one of my favorites
He did the concept for first Alien movie, right. Did you know that the first model of facehugger was actually made out of condoms. And that the opening in the eggs, where they came out, was real looking vagina. Stupid Americans didn't like this, so Giger, clever as he was, combined two vaginas and made a cross, so it satisfied all the Christians too.
