I had a very intense dream this morning. I woke and straightaway went to write it down, detail for detail. This was the dream (following is the interpretation - taken from dreammoods.com):


I had a large house with a big sunroom and porch on back that was turned into a restaurant. Mostly outdoor tables. It was in a residential area. Back in the kitchen there was a big side-by-side stainless still refrigerator, and grills with shrimp skewers on them. My BF ran the kitchen, pretty much managed everything. I floated around between tables outside and in and out of the house. I owned it, but enjoyed it more than I worked it. I went up to the kitchen, and Michael J Fox was there working - turning in orders I believe. We exchanged friendly words, and then I realized that he was Michael J Fox and made the comment to another one of the workers. There were several people that worked for me, but I didnt really know any of them. My BF managed all of that. A crowd came in all the way from my home town - people I had gone to middle school with and hadnt seen since. They all sat down at a table together and I was greeting and hugging and welcoming. As I kept looking around taking them all in, I saw April - a very close friend of mine in middle school. I didnt realize she was a twin, and I said as much. Her twin sister had much lighter freckles than her, but basically identical otherwise. Everyone looked at me funny, and then the double faded and I realized I was just seeing double. There was only one April there now. As I walked away feeling very out of sorts about it all, I ran my tongue across my teeth (common habit) and several were very loose. Loose like a young child who is wiggling their baby teeth. And then they werent.

About that time My BF's best friend came in and then they left abruptly - in separate vehicles. I went outside and watched his truck pulling away, down the next road, out of sight. There were children everywhere. Like a relay run or something in the street. School just letting out at the same time. I had to get out of their way in the street (I had walked out and was standing in the street at that point... watching his taillights disappear down the side street).

I went inside and got my purse. I opened it and it was full of cell phones. Flip phones and old cell phones and little nokias and all kinds. 8 or more at least. I kept digging. Kept pulling things out of my purse and putting them on the table in front of me - searching for MY phone. There were papers - lots of papers. About 4 sets of darts. I kept pulling things out. April asked me why he would do such a thing (put all of those cell phones in my purse) and my answer was: "to stress me out if my phone rang while I was driving down the road". I finally found my phone and pushed the button that automatically called his phone from mine.

It went straight to voice mail. The message was from his son, but was to me. He had put his son up to creating that message to me, knowing I would call when he left. Next there was some music, and then the BF's voice. I hung up.

I came back in to the house/restaurant. It was all running as usual... but I realized I knew nothing. I didnt know if my BF was the cook, and now there wasnt a cook back there at all? But food was still coming out. I realized I didnt even know where all the doors were, or how they locked - or how to close up at all. And then I heard his truck and I turned around and saw the headlights in the glass doors. I went straight outside and tried to give him a hug and say "We at least owe each other a goodbye". He was very abrasive and shrugged me off of him and walked off mumbling "screw you" and then left.

Then I woke.

Interpretations


Dreams relating to a house often refers to various aspects of the Self. When trying to analyze the house in your dream, consider also how the house is kept and the condition of it. The rooms in the house relates to facets of your personality.

If this were true, I’d have to say the house was very large and roomy. I was most comfortable in the public parts of the house – the restaurant area and the kitchen where the workers were. I floated around between these two areas. When I ventured to other sections I found bedrooms I didn’t even know were there (in my own home) and it seemed very large and very roomy. I felt lost there.

I remember peeking into the bathroom more than once. It was beautiful, clean. I didn’t go inside, just peeked in.


To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.
To dream that you can not find the bathroom, signifies that you are have difficulties in releasing and expressing your emotions.

To see a hallway in your dream, symbolizes the beginning of a path that you are taking in life or a journey into the unknown and self exploration.

Interesting, as I was wondering through the hallways. There were very long but spacious hallways – some leading, like I mentioned, to rooms I didn’t even know were there.


To see a house in your dream, represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche.

To see a kitchen in your dream, signifies your need for spiritual nourishment. It also forewarns that you will be met with some depressing news.

I did spend much time in the kitchen, though I had no place there. It was busy and friendly, and I wasn’t needed.

To see a mansion in your dream, suggests that you need growth. You may feel that your current situation or relationship is in a rut.

I would certainly consider it a mansion. It was beautiful – several stories. Huge.

To discover secret passageways in your dream, parallels to something new and/or exciting that is occurring in your waking life. It may refer to new opportunities, a new relationship, or a new attitude toward life. If you wake up before fully exploring these passageways, then it suggests that you may not know how to go about taking advantage of these opportunities or how to move forward with a relationship. Perhaps the newness and uncertainty of this discovery also makes you a little more cautious. This is a positive dream.

This makes me think of the long hallway (more narrow than hallways in the rest of the house) that led to the “secret bedroom”. I did go down this hallway, and into the bedroom. It was large and spacious and I was impressed that I had this room I wasn’t aware of and thought of things I might do with it.

To dream of a porch, represents your personality, your social self, your facade and how you portray yourself to others. Consider the condition and size of the porch. In particular to dream of an enclosed porch, suggests of your tendency to distance yourself from others and your desires for privacy. To dream of an opened porch, signifies your outgoing nature and welcoming attitude.

The restaurant was on the porch. There was both an open porch and a screened in porch (I believe it was glass, but overlooking the outdoor patio area). This makes sense to me because this is where the people were, and where I was interacting with others.

In the part of my dream where I am searching through my purse for my cell phone, I was in the enclosed porch.


To dream that you are walking up a flight of stairs, indicates that you are achieving a higher level of understanding. You are making progress into your spiritual/emotional/material journey.

To dream that you are walking down a flight of stairs, suggests that you are going into your unconscious. It also refers to setbacks that you will experience in your lie

To see spiral or winding stairs, signify growth and/or rebirth.

This was interesting. There were stairs throughout the house. I was standing at the top of one flight of stairs, in a foyer on what seemed like the 2nd floor… looking up in amazement at the other two flights of stairs going up. They were beautiful, with intricate woodwork, and they sort of intertwined with another set of stairs. They weren’t spiral, but went up, had a landing, and turned 90 degrees to the right. I wasn’t sure what was on the floor above me.

It occurred to me within the dream that I didn’t know very much about my own house. I felt lost in my own home.



To dream that you are in a restaurant, suggests that you are feeling overwhelmed by decisions/choices that you need to make in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are seeking for emotional nourishment outside of your social support system.

I was very happy throughout most of this dream. The discoveries were positive ones. The social aspect was very pleasant. The feeling of having no responsibilities and seeing that everything was running nicely was a good feeling.


To see or hear a telephone in your dream, signifies a message from your unconscious or some sort of telepathic communication. You may be forced to confront issues which you have tried to avoid.

To dream that you are having a telephone conversation with someone your know, signifies an issue that you need to confront with that person. This issue may have to do with letting go some part of yourself.

In dreams, the telephone reflects the connection you have with a situation or relationship. Your difficulties in getting a hold of your boyfriend is telling of some communication problems that you may be having with him in your waking relationship. Sometimes you feel that your boyfriend is unreachable or that he is not always there for you.



To see a chef in your dream, represents transformation and changes.

To see children in your dream, signifies your own childlike qualities or a retreat back to a childlike state. It is an extension of your inner child during a time of innocence, purity, simplicity, and a carefree attitude. To dream that you are good friends with a celebrity, represents your idealized version of someone you know in your life. Perhaps you hope that a real-life friend can act more like a particular celebrity. Consider the qualities that you see in this celebrity and how you want your friends to have those qualities.

In my dream, I was having a very friendly and enjoyable conversation with Michael J Fox. Probably idolized him as a young girl as being an icon of the good guys. He complimented me. It was then that I realized who he was (saw his face when he turned to me to say the nice thing). We were arm in arm and laughing when one of the other workers (waiter?) passed by and I (still laughing) said “did you hear what Michael J Fox thinks of me??”

Damn you dream alot and remember alot. You know what I dreamt of last night. Honestly I swear on my dignity that its true. All I remember is that my piece that makes my glasses sit on my nose broke off. All I remember is holding the piece and glasses and being scared on how to fix it. Kind of wierd. Thats all I remember.

It's honestly not often that I dream in such detail, or something that intense. I think this dream was very telling of the things I am going through right now. I cant believe you read it all (LOL)

Yes, well, things with dreams, memory, and the mind seem to interest me. Most people who dream remember short almost like clips from the dream. Never the entire dream it-self. That is what amazed me. Even if a dream is nothing but random burst of memory created with no purpose and connection it still makes you wonder why it was put together the way it was. Everything has a reason and there must be a reason to why that dream was the way that dream was.

I agree. When I have a vivid and lengthy dream like that, it stays with me. That is considering of course that I have the luxury of sitting down to write (uninterrupted) when I wake. Else I lose it altogether.

It's usually not when I sleep through the night that I remember a dream so well, but instead during a short day nap - or if I lay back down in the morning for an hour or so.

LOL I have stupid little meaningless dreams like that all the time too.

apparently if you dont remember your dreams its because something is wrong with you in your life ... like you have too much stress ... or you dont sleep enough .

My dream from the day before involved a pigeon who flew into my house and I tried to chase him out. And then my budgie started attacking him...

Independent I would becareful exploring the websites which have little relations to science and many relations to telepathy, magic and witchcraft. On many occasions they tend to be very wrong and just out to scam people...

I was very surprised to see you put so much relevance onto stationary objects in your dream and so little relevance to people and your relations with them. There are a lot of feelings and emotions coming out of this dream. Your subconscious is screaming at you. I am in no way certified in dream analyses, but certain things really hit me in the face. E.g. Your strong subconscious dependence on your BF i.e. him being in charge of your immediate surroundings, your need to communicate with him, your need for a sense of closure. I think there maybe some emotional dependency issues to consider...

Other suggestions, loose teeth tie in with insecurity or lack of confidence in your abilities. Mansion can also stand for a facade to cover or put a nice face onto issues floating beneath the surface...
