Swimming with dyed hair.
I'm thinking about dying my hair dark brown again like it was at the beginning of last summer. The thing is, my gym class is starting swimming this week and I'm not sure if I should wait to dye it. Our swimming unit lasts about two weeks. If I go ahead and dye it now, what is the chance that it'll fade or change color? (I don't know much about this kind of stuff.)

are you sure you're gonna dye your hair?? or lighten it. because if you lighten it, then it will always remain that way. if you are blond and you're thinking of dying it brown, then it will fade back to your natural color if it is blond.

Bertismyhomeboy------I spend alot of time swimming and the chlorine just ruins my hair. It gets really dry and one must use conditioner.

If you dye your hair, the hair structure will be really brittle, so the chlorine will ruin the colour and you could wind up with straw-like hair. If you really want to go ahead, use shampoos for dyed hair. Not that it will help much.

If you were bleaching your hair, then that would really dry it out. Since you are just dying it to make it darker, you should be ok. Use a permanent dye. Be sure to use a conditioner to keep your hair soft. You should be ok though. I've only had problems with chlorine when bleaching.
