| | | Anyone a mechanic? I doubt you guys can help But I'm seriously having no luck at all finding this.
I took my 95 jeep cherokee into a shop to have them find a short. Awhile back, I was driving and all of a sudden my interior lights (gauges) when out. Well I didn't notice at the time but so did the parking lights and tailights. A week ago I went to go somewhere and noticed the only things that work were the headlights and breaklights so i changed the fuse but it kept blowing. We changed the battery and terminal cables and still no success.
Well anyhow the shop called today and said theyt ook apart our stereot thinkign thatw as the problem and found it wasn't. They said the culprit is the wiring harness underneath the vehicle. It will take appoximately 6-7 hours to fix since they may ahve to take out the seast, carpet, and etc.. to track all the wires and correct the problem. They also told me it would cost anywhere from $300-$400 does that seem right? I don't want to get scammed but without taking somehwere else nobody can give me an estimate.

I'm not a mechanic, but I do have three project cars I'm working on currently. So yea, I know a thing or two.
As far as the 6-7 hour timeline and the associated costs, that sounds reasonable. My one concern, however, is they dont seem to have the best electrical troubleshooting skills. This isn't something a lot of mechanics really do well. Anyway, I would think they should be able to properly address where the problem is before deciding the whole harness needs redone.

| | | LOL, well thank you guys for your help. Yea, I'm hearing all this seocnd hand from my bf's father who knows these people pretty well. But I assume they have to get the harness and then track the wires to see where the problem is?? whihc is why it would take so long. I just thought that was a cray prize but then agaion my bf expected the fix to all this to be udner $100 before we new the problem..
Thanks guys! And thanks for trying OV. LOL

where did you get it from? The "Pina Colada Song", you mean? God, its an old song by Rupert Holmes. Google the lyrics if you want the whole story. I quote it b/c I've lived that song.
