Before too long, the Gallery is going to see some cleaning up. There has been a lot of complaints and discussions and P.M.s that go for either side, but the fact remains that there are way too many pictures in the gallery that have nothing to do with anything in particular.

The original idea of the gallery was for members to post up pictures of themselves for others to see. This will not change. What it was NOT intended for was for people to post pictures of their car, their dog, or the shit they took last night.

Continuing with the shit analogy - There are too many pictures of crap in the gallery.

We all know what hotlinking and bandwidth is. If you don't, look it up. Someone is paying for it when both of these occur.

Before I go out and completely erase 500 some pictures, I am providing everyone the opportunity to download any images they may have a desire to keep, in case this is the only place that their pictures are stored.

This is still a forum based on relationships, sex, dating advice, etc.

If you want to start a gallery of all of your crap, go to a website like http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.imageshack.us/ and put your link in your signature.

well, i think that members should be able to post photos of their dogs and cars and all that. what gets me is that people who never post in the forum post a million pictures of people who nobody knows. or even if they just post a few, those need to go. but pics such as nomas's pics of signs and shit should stay, because he's a regular member, even if he doesn't post as much.

i think old members who haven't posted in a year or so should have their galleries deleted.

Hey no problem man, but then maybe it shouldn't be called a gallery and simply a portrait page. Allowing members to post unlimited pictures in their own gallery is very misleading if you only want 2 or 3 portraits of people. Nothing in the gallery section states that at all. And as far as people complaining about what is or isn’t in someone’s gallery well then what the hell. No one is forcing them to look at my gallery or any one else’s gallery for that matter.

People just have to constantly complain about others like damn jealous children.

I vote for getting rid of all the crap pictures. They are boring, especially the ones of people's X-mas gifts. That was ridiculous.

There is a lot of shit in the gallery. Also, like sombra mentioned, there are a bunch of people who post pictures there but have only posted to the boards maybe once, or sometimes even not at all. I also agree to remove peoples galleries who haven't been active in more than a year.

Damn, Cybog, what triggered the crackdown recently? Not that I mind....someone's gotta keep things in check.

I think you should crack down on the pics already; that includes Members "dog" pics and BS pictures. Sorry Nomas, but if we can get rid of dertain people "polluting" the gallery, then so be it.

I agree - I think it should be controlled... like maybe allow for one or two 'off-pictures' per member but people who post like 4+ photos of just random stuff should be deleted.

i think it could be a nice way of introducing yourself, if you put photos of your personal shit in there. for example, instead of saying "hi, i'm xxx, i play the guitar blablabla…, you just post a pic (only one, of course, not 10!) of your guitar and everything's said.
