Hello people,
My friend is getting married over the weekend. Well I am thinking of giving him money as a present because they're a young couple and it might help them get started, and partly because I suck buying presents. ok mostly because I haveno idea what to give. anyway so how do you give someone money at a wedding. put it in a envelope with a card? do you give something with it, like flowers and shit? do put wrap it up? give a cheque instead? travellers cheque? what? help! god i hate weddings.

at the weddings I've gone to, there's a "money box" ...

get a money card, so you can sign it and everything ... and just lay it with the rest of the presents ...

Also, a lot of couple set up gift registries to take out all of the guesswork ... just find out if/where they're registered, pull up the registry, and pick something that hasn't been purchased yet ...

At least they're not doing that tacky "money tree" thing. I saw that once ::shudder::

I know this sounds a little dorky, but take a picture of yourself holding up a sign that says "Congratulations!" and stick it in the card with the money. It'll probably end up on their fridge for years until their two year old smears mustard on it or something, and it will give them something to have long after the money's gone.
