When I first heard this story I found it hard to believe but its been all over the news.
Ok, so here's the story -
This woman was following her satellite navigation system unquestionably and following all the directions it gave her. She was driving along this country land and when she got to the end of the lane there was this gate in front of her. So she got out at open the gate then got back into her car and drove forward, but there was another gate right in front of her.
So she got out of the car to open the second gate and as she did she hears this loud horn. A moment later a train smashes into her car!! She had driven right onto a train crossing!!! Luckily she wasn't in the car at the time because she'd gone to open the second gate. But she's very lucky to be alive after that.
Moral of the story,
NEVER put all your trust in sat nav or any computerised device to guide you along the right path. Use common sense too!!
