artwork

after talking to a member about art, sharing my artwork, and getting positive feedback, i decided to make a thread for display of artwork.

attached is one of my works in progress. i spent 3 hours getting this one where it is. i would appreciate any feedback. feel free to post your own artwork as well. just watermark it or something.

BTW, very interesting piece. Unfortunately I'm not artistically inclined. So anyone who is gets kudos in my book.

kickass, I never got the hang of etchings- I'm too impatient.

the photograph is actually pretty simple. The camera is on a tripod and set to a long exposure time, it is dark except for a flashlight. I just held my hand in that position (the jitter in the photo is simply me not holding my hand still enough) and then lit it with the flashlight- and then I kinda swirled the flashlight around my finger to make those light trails.

you are correct. i spend about 30-40 hours minimum on 1 piece. i have only spent 3 on this one.

and that drawing is really good! your drawing style is very different from mine.

i would rather not post my previous work... i am drawing something right now, though, and i will post it in an hour or two when it is finished.

thanks! glad you like it. My vector style is a bit stark sometimes.

edit: btw, did you notice? on the sign, the English warming is the longest and the German one is the shortest. It's like that on the real sign. It amuses me 'cos it's usually the other way around.
