| | | cigars. cavities. question. You guys think there's any harm in smoking after you had a filling put in? I had one put in about 8 hours ago, and I refrained from eating hard things all day and won't for a couple days. I'll live off of soups and ham and cheese sandwiches for a week until the filling gets coooooooompletely hardened.
But my buddy gave me a box of cigars tonight I never heard of and I'm itchin to try one. Wonder if there's any harm in that? | | Loveforum Breaktime | | | | Loveforum also recommend - Green tea - Help in weight loss and decrease rate of getting cancer.

| | | Knock yourself out. If it does happen to fall out, it's nothing a bit of superglue and stickyback plastic can't fix right? | |

| | | you'll probably make your filling brown at best. at worst your gums will turn into mush and you'll cough until you choke to death.

| | | Thing that's buggin me with this filling is, I chipped part of my tooth, so the filling is kind of big cause it covers the chipped part of my tooth. It looks like it touches the tooth behind it, but I don't believe it does. I want to try flossing, but not yet, not for a day or so until this has all the time in the world to set. Granted, the dentist DOES have his little mirror back there to check. *shrug* | |

| | | Don't worry, your filling will be fine. I chipped my tooth last winter and had to have a filling put in. I was doing everything regular the next day, and I did smoke a few hrs afterwards when the novacaine wore off.
Everything was fine. They don't suggest smoking after having a tooth REMOVED for at least 3 days. Something to do with drysocket and preventing it.
Oh yeah and the weirdness of the filling will go away. As you eat and chew, etc, it will get filed down to where it is supposed to be. Right now it feels foreign and awkward, but in a week you will feel like its always been there.

Yeah, not an easy thing to do when your mouth is completely numb! I hate that feeling..... Then when I was little, they would give me a piece of cotton to bite down on so I wouldn't bite my lip.
