ok, so now i'm considering buying it... for those of you who have it or whatevers, what's your thoughts?

i don't have the playstation3, and i probably won't get it unless one day it's $20. i just got a ps2!

i think the nintendo wii is more fun (i played ps3 at the mall and i own a nintendo wii) while ps3 explores the depths of graphics.

i also heard that one can install ubuntu linux on ps3. interesting.

Don't waste your money unless you're looking to play some exclusives. Otherwise there's everything and more you'll find on the Xbox360 for cheaper.

i feel that one of the many drawbacks right now with the ps3 is the limited amount of games. certain games like final fantasy will only come out on ps and that's something that i'm hoping will be good.

as for the wii, i'm sure that it's a really fun system. i bought the cube but because it's from nintendo, there's too many childish games. i feel that the diversity isn't really there. so now with the wii in mind, the only game that i currently wanna play is the brand new mario kart that is supposed to come out.

i know what you mean with the cube... i was disappointed at many of the games that came out for that... i mainly bought cube to play the 3d metroid series (my favorite game series of all time)

they have a few games out for the wii that i'd like to buy, but i have no money. zelda and dbz tenkaichi 2 for the wii are probably the 2 most action-packed games i've ever played, but they're not exclusive to the wii (zelda is exclusive to only the wii and the cube) i haven't played a childish game yet, but i am sure there are a few, because nintendo tries to incorporate all ages into the gameplay.

to bring your thread back on topic, i really haven't played any ff games after x because x-2 was a real disappointment for me. is this new final fantasy supposed to be a really good game?

yeah i will agree the metroid games for the cube was great. i played both of them and then they stopped making new ones.. sooo, i then switches to playing ps2 games like ff12. it was a long game with a simple and basic style.

getting back to the cube, i was playing the zelda game and got kinda bored with it. it was fun in the beginning, but i dunno, it doesn't work for me. BUT mario kart is the best in my opinion...especially when you're drunk.

nah i love the double dash.. haha well i got the cube and never played the 64 one until only recently. i guess i got stuck with the recent technology and it's hard to revert.

The PS3 is loosing exclusives right now and Sony is trying to come back from a very low third place right now. My advice is if your more a hardcore gamer and/or want the multiplayer experience get the 360. But if you are not a hardcore gamer nor do you want multiplayer you may want the Wii instead.

nah, i've never really been into those halo games... and as for the wii, i just think it's an interactive gamecube. i'm more of a role-playing game lover, so with that in mind..what does the 360 offer??

I've always been a PC gamer myself. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Battlefield 2, Battlefield Vietnam, Counter-Strike: Source, etc... There is no better gaming system than a really good PC

Everything the PS3 does, plus more.

But like I said, unless you're really looking to the exclusives, like Metal Gear or Final Fantasy (should they continue being exclusive) then go with the PS3. Otherwise, Grand Theft Auto 4 is no longer exclusive, virtually all your sports games can be found on both consoles, Sony has Gran Turismo, while Microsoft has Forza Motorsport. Shit Sony even lost exclusivity to Katamari Damacy:


360 continues to dominate the console first person/third person shooters. Also, the Xbox360 has the Xbox Live Arcade (aka XBLA). Here you can find a shit load of awesome arcade type titles as well as old classics revamped to take advantage of the 360 hardware and high definition. Games cost usually 400-800 MS points. Which is basically 5-10 dollars.
Here's a look at some of those, they just came out with really fun multiplayer Bomberman, and the original Sonic. They even got shit like mini-golf and poker.

I don't care much for either Metal Gear or Final Fantasy. In any case, the 360 is starting to spit out some more original RPG's if that tickles your wang. Stuff like Blue Dragon:

There's a lot of shit on the 360 and there's only more on the way. If money is an object then I'd go with the Premium Xbox360 for 399.99. But if you got money to burn shit, get a PS3, why not. They'll eventually come out with buyin' the system for, I'm sure...

I agree with Fras. Unless you MUST have MGS4 or Final Fantasy, steer clear of the PS3. And let's face it, there's a very good chance MGS4 will be ported to other systems. Might take a year or two, but do you really want to shell out 600+ bucks for one or two games?

With the Xbox you get slightly worse graphics, but you get Xbox Live which is incredible. You get far superior controllers. You don't have to worry that Microsoft's gaming division is going to go bust and abandon their system because it's nothing more than an enormous money sink.

why waste good money on a PS3? I mean you cant just play games all the time, dont you have school work or a job? If you really want to get a console, i prefer wii, cause its cheap and you excercise at the same time.
