| | | Worlds Top Ten Fastest Street Legal Cars I'm bored. So I thought I'd give you guys the low-down, courtesy of "Men's Journal" (a good mag that I subscribe to) of the worlds top ten fastest, street legal cars as of 2004. Any European cars were converted from kmph to mph.
1) McLaren F1 (1994 - 1997) 0 - 60: 3.25 sec [1st] Top Speed: 240 mph [1st] Weight to Power Ratio: 4.0 lb/hp [1st] PRICE: $950,000
On a sidenote, it's interesting that the worlds fastest street
legal car ended production 7 years ago and STILL reigns as
top dog. The rest are in a general order from 2nd to last, since they may be better in some areas than others
2) Ferrari Enzo (2003) 0 - 60: 3.65 sec [3rd] Top Speed: 217 mph [2nd] Weight to Power Ratio: 4.63 lb/hp [2nd] PRICE: $652,000
3) Saleen S7 (2001 - Present) 0 - 60: 3.3 sec [2nd] Top Speed: 215 mph [3rd] Weight to Power Ratio: 5.0 lb/hp [4th] PRICE: $395,000
4) Pagani Zonda C12 S (2000 - Present) 0 - 60: 3.75 sec [tie for 5th] Top Speed: 211 mph [4th] Weight to Power Ratio: 4.97 lb/hp [3rd] PRICE: $500,000 (est) - No dealer/rep in US
5) Ferrari F50 (1995 - 1997) 0 - 60: 3.7 sec [4th] Top Speed: 202 mph [8th] Weight to Power Ratio: 5.29 lb/hp [5th] PRICE: $487,000
6) Mercedes SLR McLaren (2004) 0 - 60: 3.75 sec [tie for 5th] Top Speed: 207 mph [5th] Weight to Power Ratio: 6.08 lb/hp [7th] PRICE: $450,000
7) Lamborghini Murcielago (2002 - Present) 0 - 60: 3.75 sec [tie for 5th] Top Speed: 205 mph [tied for 6th] Weight to Power Ratio: 6.38 lb/hp [8th] PRICE: $280,000
8) Porsche Carrera GT (2004) 0 - 60: 3.85 sec [tied for 9th] Top Speed: 205 mph [tied for 6th] Weight to Power Ratio: 5.3 lb/hp [6th] PRICE: $440,000
9) Ford GT (2004) 0 - 60: 3.8 sec [8th] Top Speed: 200 mph [9th] Weight to Power Ratio: 7.0 lb/hp [9th] PRICE: $140,000
10) Porsche 959 (1987) 0 - 60: 3.85 sec [9th] Top Speed: 196 mph [10th] Weight to Power Ratio: 7.06 lb/hp [10th] PRICE: $200,000
There ya go. Feel free to comment below. To clarify, the Pagoni Zonda is the only car that you have to buy overseas and have it shipped to US. All others can be imported at the prices above. (Unless you can find a used one in US. Yeah right.)

| | | My comments here are, an american car at #3? I never woulda thought it woulda beat out SO many italian/german cars. And bravo for a 1987 car even MAKING the list. That is QUITE an accomplishment for Porsche.
Oh yeah. Forgot to add, the upcoming 2006 CHRYSLER! (yes, CHRYSLER! I can't believe it myself) ME Four-Twelver is rumored to be the first street legal car to break the 3 second 0 - 60 barrier, with a top speed of a WHOPPING 248 mph. We'll see just how that plays out in a few years . . . .

| | | Yeah these are awesome cars, some of the best of the best. The only thing thats overlooked is the speed per dollar ratio, and most of em suck. But that is the price you pay for some of the best damn cars in the world. I would love to own each of these cars if I could...fickin beautiful cars. The curves, the speed...

| | | yeah. As far as I know, performance per dollar ratio top winners are Corvette and the often overlooked Acura NSX (< - - - dream car, planned midlife crisis car). But these cars ARE beautiful. And if I ever hit the lotto I'm gettin' a #2.

And relatively realistic seeing as a used one (in very good condition) can be obtained for probably less than 50 thousand. Which for a car of this calibur, looks, performance, everything is very good.

| | | There is a place near where I live here in Ohio, called Denny Dotsons. Its a place that sells rare import cars and such. They have anything you can think of from Supra's, Eclipse GSX's, to yes the NSX. They are selling a beautiful NSX for around $31,000. I bought a SE-R Spec V from them not to long ago for around $16,000.

| | | Alexi,
You are so off...
Lets check out your supposed "#1":
1) McLaren F1 (1994 - 1997) 0 - 60: 3.25 sec [1st] Top Speed: 240 mph [1st] Weight to Power Ratio: 4.0 lb/hp [1st] PRICE: $950,000 (The 950,000 was original MSRP, today its appreciated to 1,600,000) The Real Champions 1) Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (2003) 0 - 60: 2.9 sec [1st Tie] Top Speed: 252 mph [1st] Weight to Power Ratio: 3.5 lb/hp [2nd] PRICE: $1,153,000 2) Chrysler ME Four-Twelve (2004) 0 - 60: 2.9 sec [1st Tie] Top Speed: 248 mph [2nd] Weight to Power Ratio: 3.4 lb/hp [1st] PRICE: (TBA)
Kindly edit your McLaren to match the correct ranking, which is third place in every category... not first. That aside, a McLaren is still a damn nice car. Do you know how McLaren works? Are they a private group who auction contracts, because their first bid was taken by Ferrari and now they've contracted to Mercedes.

First off, I stated this was courtesy of "Mens Journal" magazine, not myself. So therefore I'm not the one that's 'so off'. Second, is your number one US street legal? The above are cars that are US street legal so I'm sure they would have tested that one if it was street legal, a production car, and available. Thirdly, as for the Chrysler ME Four-twelve, I did mention it, however it's not currently out in production. So therefore it doesn't apply to the list of ten fastest production cars.
As for YOU innova, is that the normal production, ie STOCK model? Or was that the fastest recorded one, which was the supped up Le Mans model? Also, I see it being stree legal in Europe from the link, but what about the US of A?

| | | sfalexi, you have to remember though. If I was from europe, then it would be street legal...thus being the fastest.
People get the notion that if it doesn't apply to the US, then its no point at all, and this just isn't true.
Now being in the US, yes it applys...but say I went overseas...then it doesn't.
And yes that is the stock road model.
