| | | I don't think vomiting is a common symptom of diverticulitis.
It is good you are having the colonoscopy. The prep is worse than the procedure. be sure they look at the entire colon, and not just the sigmoid portion.

| | | I think the vomiting was coming from all of the morphine they pumped into to me. I just cut back on the food intake to avoid many potty trips. I do get sick to my stomach but I think that may be contributed to some stress. Im going to tell Dr Butt guy, exam it all I dont want to go through this again anytime soon.

| | | Diverticulosis is usually cause by chronic constipation. Maybe you have IBS? The symptoms are very similar. When is the colonoscopy?

| | | Vash, Ive already been diagnosed with IBS years ago. These symptoms are different. When I had my bout of IBS omg I couldnt eat anything without going to the bathroom within minutes. My surgery which I had years ago, the pain was just as bad and they thought it was my appendix, nope, strangled bowels. My symptoms are different this time around, thats what scares me. Ive read alot about Diverticulitis and my general MD diagnosed me with it. But the severe pain I have is sooo bad at times in the left side and goes into my back. I go this Thurs for my consult with the Gastro.
Having had IBS in the past and knowing what I can and cant eat etc, Ive avoided those things and it still doesnt matter. Im guessing within 2 weeks the colonoscopy is coming. I truly hoped the antibiotics wouldve kicked it out completely but it hasnt, and I do take into consideration the stress levels too. My surgeon who performed the gastro surgery told me years ago this was coming, so Im praying this isnt it yet! I dont know if its hereditary or not, but it runs in my family too. We'll see!!! Id love to hear my Dr is wrong! And its just a bad bout of IBS.

Antibiotics and/or some kind of cleanse to get everything 'washed out' of there, then careful diet management has helped ppl I know who have this condition.
Read more before undergoing surgery. These days you really need to be your own doctor in educating yourself about these things.

Two things: someone close to me has (had) DVT & he would writhe around at night like he was dying before he figured dairy was the culprit.
Also, knew a fellow who studied IBD. Last I remember, the cause was unknown but was some suggestion it was related to an autoimmune-type issue involving mast cells. Does antihistamines help you? Again, suggest you read more before undergoing surgery. Not all MDs keep up on the science literature.

| | | anything that deals with scraping doesn't sound too fun. i dunno about the entire process, but i think that it's never a permanent treatment. just don't let it get worse again.
as for your "friend"... it's not to often that you hear of an attempted guy rape by another guy. i'm sure that they are out there, however, this one is far from left field.

| | | The only reason why surgery was mentioned, was because of my surgery back in 92. They thought it was my appendix, got in there and I had "strangled bowels", I almost died from it. At THAT time, they said down the road there was a huge possiblty Id have to have another surgery to remove part of my intensines. The surgery now mentioned isnt because of the Diverticulitis, unless its osis maybe, if part of my intensines were severely diseased.
Having had IBS, Ive avoided those things which irritate to me. Pain is still there off and on. I dont do dairy unless a creamer. Ive been reading alot on it. I'll know soon enough. Thanks for the info! Always can use more.
Raver, Bobby is obsessed with Kyle. Too many details to even go into to, but Ive seen it. This Christmas he spent over 700 dollars on him for his car. COME ON MAN! He's a convived pedafile too. I tried to overlook that shit, because all of his friends in his circle claimed it was his girlfriend, and one day mom or dad got pissed off enough and the rest is on the books!

| | | hrmm... i didn't really get into the whole "bobby" situation and after reading this thread, i thought that he was just a good friend of kyle's. probably about the same age, but the convicted pedophile thing, that's a huge no no.

| | | My hubby called the Gastro and they played phone tag. Im going in Thurs and in the meantime Im taking my morphine, its that bad now.
I talked to an RN today, giving her all the info on me, she thinks I may have a part of my intestines diseased and may have to have it removed too. Consensus, Im hurting and ready for the graveyard!
