Jimmy, if you want people to start calling you Jim, just start introducing yourself that way. Don't insist that people who are used to calling you Jimmy change. Some of them never will, and some will refuse to, just to bug you. When school starts, get your teachers to call you Jim. That should start the ball rolling.
