I like obese people because they make me feel like a superior human being.

Holy crap! My hubby just said the obese are NOT a protected class of people under the constitution. These people could not use discrimination as there case, for they are not protected. My lord. What has this country come to? Ok so I walk into Bob Evans weighing in at a hefty 200 pd woman theyre actually going to kick me out? WTF? Chris thinks its HIGHLY unlikely this damn thing would pass.

The states that find it necessary to pass that kind of bill are obviously the states with a higher percentage of "obese" individuals.

Tax payers.

Voters.

Why is Mississippi always the state to have controversial laws? Anyways, this will not pass. I don't agree with that bill Vash. When a hungry person comes to a place that serves food he is to be served like anyone else...assuming he has money lol. That is the entire point that staying in shape and fit is based on someone's good judgment. It is like telling someone that they can not be fat, I never say that...I say they shouldn't be fat...there is a difference right?

To be considered "Obese" or at least morbidly obese is meaning to be at least 100lbs over your ideal weight. Which depends on your height. guess around 130-140lbs for the average female. So you have to come in at 240lbs+ .

Yea, and he will probably take it to court. Where it will be dropped by the 300lb judge.

I was surprised that some areas were able to ban smoking in non-government owned businesses (restaurants).

This bill might not be plausible now, but I'm sure a lot people thought the same of a smoking ban.

With the rising rates of Type 2 Diabetes in children, I wouldn't be surprised is some sort of legislation is eventually passed. I have to admit than when I see what the elementary school kids are taking for lunch, I want to ban their parents from being allowed to buy junk food. (I'm not opposed to junk food except for when it is used as a main course.)

Public restaurants cater to the public and the government exists to protect the public. I don't want to eat where the smoke stink can get me. You can still smoke in your house all you want. This fat thing is different tough.

You might be interested to know that schools here in BC just recently passed very stringent dietary guidelines for what can be sold in schools. In my son's school, this has meant huge revisions to our hot lunch programme (no more McDonald's Day) & they can't have bake sales or sell pop, chips, popcorn, burgers, etc at our fundraisers like community Play Day, Bingo, Movie Night & that sort of thing.

Something tells me that solving the obesity problem is a bit more complex than "don't sell them food".
I doubt the truly obese people even get their food at restaurants. And if they did, that'd be dangerous as if they stopped eating suddenly they could die.
