| | | | Moving I hate moving...
but tonight will be my last night in my nice & comfortable apartment.
I'm moving downtown into a pretty dumpy place. It's dirt cheap though and I will be able to walk to work & school. So on top of a cheap rent I'll be saving $$ on gas.
I'll have a gas stove w/ no pilot lite that I am a little nervous about, but I suppose I'll get use to it. Anyone else use a lot of gas stoves?

| | | Gas stoves are better than electric, IMO. (At least, that's what I am used to.) You'll adjust.
Will you have roommates?

| | | | Do you live in Nebraska? That would mean you are only a state away.
I don't think anybody likes to move. Takes too much energy, and sometimes you have to desert friends. But you will be saving money, and you will get used to living in a dumpy place. | | The Following User Says Thank You to For This Useful Post:

| | | It's a small sacrifice, my dear, to achieve the greater goal. When you're done school and have a great job, you can live wherever you want. So make the best of it. Gas stoves are great, actually, I used to have one.
I hear you about moving though.....I just moved in w/my bf and we decided we're staying in this house for a few years.....in the last ten years, we have moved a total of 22 times combined. I'm SO done with moving.

| | | Moving out was a really positive change for me. I loved all the freedom and finally taking care of myself. Also since I moved in with friends there's never really been a boring moment in this place.
Becareful with gas stoves though. My flat mate once left the gas on when he went out. I woke up to strange smell that saturated the house. I knew what it was straight away. Turned it off, woke up my other flat mate, opened all the windows and the doors and went stayed outside for about an hour. It was a scary experience. Becareful!

| | | | Well I've been living by myself in a one-bedroom apartment for the last 14 months and it is really really nice.
Scary stuff, Mish... how did your friend leave the gas on? Just by turning the knobs and leaving it running?

| | | ^ Yeah, make sure to check all the knobs are switched off at night. Last thing you want is to die in your sleep.

| | | I've always loved moving. Who knows, maybe you'll be living right next door to a gorgeous girl you'd never have met otherwise.
Good luck, dude.

Yeh, apparently he couldn't find any matches or something like that and forgot to switch the gas off when he went out. Good thing I woke up only like half an hour after he left. We had a long talk after that happened.

| | | happy moving! gas stoves are nice, i think. you can warm tortillas on them much easier and they come out so much better. that's if you're not afraid to burn your fingers.
you'll still have the net, right?
