| | | It's 8:15 and I haven't been to sleep yet either. Go out and party all night and sleep all day. That's my advice.

| | | The only pharmaceutic I would recommend is melatonin and its derivatives. I am not a fan of using drugs unless it is needed because of a tragic event preventing sleep. | |

raverboy Gribble, some people have to work, sorry I couldn't take your advice.
Lesa, yeah I heard of Melatonin, but the sleeping habit requires more then 10 hours of sleep a day, other wise you'll just be sleepy for a week.
Illusional.....I'm glad that a genius can log on to this forum and stick with the topic.

| | | I recall reading that bananas and milk contains a chemical that makes it easier to sleep, but reckon they're pretty mild. Still, I'd prefer to do that than crunch pills.
If I have trouble falling asleep so far it has worked out very well to put on a movie that I've already seen a gazillion times. I don't hear anything to distract me, and I can watch it, but I grow bored (and thus sleepy) in minutes.

| | | Read something boring or count up to 100 then in descending order if you r still awake. Tone's advice is the best, practically you can go for a long walk in the fresh air before goind to sleep. I have the same prb and had to wake up at 6:30 am for work. Avoid medications, they lead to disasters. | |

| | | Warm milk is supposed to be a good sleep aid.
I've also had success with deep breathing, inhaling and exhaling very slowly while trying to relax every muscle. This tends to put me to sleep.
Or reading a novel. It makes my eyes tired and then the rest follows. | |

No tiredness at the end of the day.

| | | Melatonin plays a big role in inducing sleep and causing drowsiness. Complete darkness and a state of "vacuum" stimulates production of melatonin in your body. I recommend sleeping glasses, ear plugs and a big blanket which can emulate a burrow for hibernation.
Your enemies are tension, stress, rumination and excess energy. Ussually inter related to one another. Use massage oil and message any stressed muscles. Use menthol cream on any tense area on your head. Use anti-rumination exercises and before suggested physical activcity (like tennis for 2 hours) to exhaust you can help a lot too.
