It finally came!
To be honest I've never been a fan of the whole apple and ipod fanatics. But I finally gave into getting one, and I'm glad I did!

My ipod touch finally came! It's so cool, but I'm a little upset about one thing. The wifi isn't working well. I've tried everything to get this thing to work. And when I mean everything, I've tried EVERYTHING. The only thing that works is when my router has no encryption on, and mac filtering is off, and the touch is about a foot away from it. When it's within a foot from the router it works perfect.

Since it's obviously under warranty, I'm taking it into the ipod store and going to have them exchange it. If they give me any shit for it I'm going to raise hell. One thing I can honestly thank my parents for is how to argue when it comes to business and get my way.

I'm pretty damn good at it if I say so myself.

But other than that I'm in love with this thing. It's very user friendly and just fun. I love the whole album art setup when you turn it into the landscape position. Although most my music doesn't have album art, I'm going to have to manually add them...don't ask why, lol.

Anyone else have one?

Yep yep, I'm going to take it to the store after work tomorrow. Also printed out the online page that indicates that my ipod (serial number on back) has a warranty till July 05, 2009. It also specifically states that I can take it into any Apple store with a Genius bar and have them service it there.

I'm a little disappointed, but I figured I just got a bad copy. That can happen with any product, now if it happened second time around...I'd be pissed.

I couldn't figure out how to get wi-fi on my palm TX, which I use in the hospital. Oh, well... I really don't have time for it anyway.

I don't have the iPod touch, but I absolutely love my iPod. My only issue is that they have a definitive shelf life, and you can't just replace them with the same thing you had before... they keep adding new bells and whistles that frankly, I don't need nor want.

I was about to say... I'm not even in the RN program yet and only doing clinicals in a nursing home (though I move on to a hospital next quarter) and I don't have much time, if any, to be looking at my phone. I have to try to take a quick 2 minute break to return any phone calls.

I downloaded a number of text books to my Palm TX so I have access in the hospital without dragging all those heavy books around. It was the best thing I purchased for nursing school. Even my clinical instructors are in awe.

Ya. I have one. A friend gave it to me for my birthday. I have no problem with the internet connection. I thought Ipods have way better audio quality tha any other music players I've used.

Yes. And Vash, as for the older ipods, no worries. I have an old 8GB mini. Its was flagging but you can replace the battery with a little effort. Its voids the warranty but after a couple years, whatever.

They are around $20 & come with a little instruction vid on how to take apart your iPod. If you aren't keen on iPod surgery yourself, ask one of your kids, they'll have no problem

FYI, I was only getting a couple of hours out of my battery towards the end even w/a full charge. Its a common problem with the ipods. After I replaced the bat, I can now get 8+ hours out of it. Which is more than the original bat it came with. I keep that one in my car.

I was about to snap someone's neck today at that stupid store. Who the hell runs customer services like that? I mean seriously...I waited about an hour just to talk to someone, half the people were just standing around. I went to one of the people just standing there they told me to go to the "genius bar" (wtf?). So I'm waiting there to talk to someone...I finally get to talking to them and tell them the issues I'm having. They tell me they're going to restore it...I told them I've already done it. Told me they're going to do it again, just to be sure. Wasted about 10 minutes doing that. Then told me I had to go to some lady in some orange shirt to talk about what services they offer and what I can do about it. Ok...so I go to this lady, wait about 30 minutes to talk to her. Finally get around to talking to her, she goes through the same bs the same guy did messes around with it, even though I told her he already did it. Another big waste of time.

She then tells me I need to make an appointment. Wth, are you kidding me? Why the hell can't you just replace the damn thing now? If you're taking the time to explain this to me, why the hell can't you just replace the thing instead of waste time telling me that you're going to have to replace/fix it? It's obviously broken she was the second one that said it wasn't working right and they would probably replace it since it's under warranty.

She told me that some guy had been waiting about an hour for his appointment. Are you kidding me? Half the people at this "genius bar," (ya right...more like cocky, wanna-be hip, retards that don't know jack shit about anything but apple, I explained the settings I messed with on my router and they looked clueless) pointed me in ten different directions were just standing there doing nothing talking. This place is a joke. I mean seriously, I'm starting to regret buying this not because of the device but because of the crappy service. So now I've got to go back this Thursday right after work and have them check it out and hopefully replace it the same day so I don't have to drive out there again and wait in line again.

I've been unhappy with Apple service all along, too. Thanks for reminding me. At least your item is still under warranty, so it WILL be resolved. My stuff always breaks down the day after the warranty expires, so all they ever tell me (after I wait in line for 2 hours) is to buy a more expensive replacement.

But, when it's working, I must admit I love it.

I have a nice 2 gigabyte mp3 player. Got it for $70. Just enough to get rid of a need for cds. I am fortunate enough to even have the damn thing, so I am not going to complain.
