6 Pack
Ok ok ok - I know this has been asked alot of times in alot of places on this site, but there never was any straight forward answers. Just a "diet and excercise" response.....

Ok, diet as in what ? Eat nothing but greens (vegi's), eat 0% fat, eat 0% carbs, something else, anything, everything ?! lol

and Excersice as in run, walk, lift, stretch, situps, pull ups, push ups, etc etc ??

How would someone get rid of excess 'flab' on their stomach and turn it to muscle in other places and/or in a '6 pack'.

I dont want to be all huge and shit, i just want a 6'pack, with a nice chest and nice arms. blah blah blah and all that good crap.

Note: I have started budgetting my money big time because I have big spending to do in the next few months (i will be spending about $50,000 within 3 months from now), so I dont have money to join a gym or go buy weight sets or anything... So self excersices (sit up, push ups, etc) would be good if it possible to get the results from that.

help. eep. lol

50K on what? if you don't have the time to devote to self improvement, you ain't gonna get a six pack. you'll end up drinking them.
from what i've learned, the only way to reduce the excess fat from that area is to basically 'starve' that part of your body. you know how your stomach grumbles when you're hungry? it's like it wants you to eat. when it doesn't eat, it feeds off the fat you already have within your body. keep that in mind. i'm not saying that you should NOT eat because it won't work. you have to control what you eat and have your body control how much fat it eats off. 'grazing' all day is better than eating 3 big meals a day. various types of exercise helps but mainly the kind where it conditions your body rather than develop the muscles. i do a lot of running and rowing. helps a little.

Not my body - I have trained my body to fast. I can go weeks on end without food and only loose a few pounds (not enough to visually see)..

And even now I eat only one meal a day, well I eat the equivalent to one meal a day but it is spread thruought the whole day. And I have lost weight doing this slowly for awhile, but now it seems I have stopped loosing the fat and I am starting to gain the muscle back.

Dont get me wrong, this is a very good thing for me. I am more powerful than ever. But the problem lies that I still have this 'chucky' layer of fat over all the muscles. Mainly in the stomach area. If I had a shirt on you would not belive i have a 'beer belly' gut... I can turn heads sometimes.. But if I had no shirt on I tell you, Everyone would be running from me. lol.

But yeah - thats my goal I want to work on now thru next summer. By next summer I want to be happy with my looks (well there aint nuthin I can do about my face, but I want to have a nice bod). I burned myself 3 times this weekend getting ready to get tan. I have major sunburns. Its awsome. But after this heals I wont burn for the rest of the summer. I will just get darker and darker. But even then... A dark 'beer belly' isnt attractive at all walking down the beach. lmao No matter how many muscles I may have or how big my arms and chest are, the damn beer belly just ruins the package.

I've been trying to do the same thing. I don't have anything from drinking, but i've always had an annoying thin layer down there. I know that if I stand up straight or flex that you can see upper ab definition and a little bit oblique area, but my lower abs are hampered by the only bit of fat I have on me. I know they're strong through because I can feel the seperations of each muscle where a 6 pack should be. So I know it's possible to acheive. (Betty doesn't want me to since she likes having a little bit to squeeze on my hip.) :-P Speaking of which, she DOES have a womans 6 pack. As in, not incredibly noticeable as opposed to a male bodybuilder, but defined enough to see with the midriff shirts that she wears. She jogs/runs everyday, does situps and crunches and actually eats more than I do! I've seen her eat chocolate and cookies (loves american chocolate) and she's still good to go. She complains that she has gained like a pound or something in her thighs but I can't see it. She's like a rail and very thin and bony but her torso is very chiseled.

You might want to try a non pro-hormone supplement like creatine or whey protein. You just mix with milk and it tastes like generic chocolate milk. No big deal. Unfortunatly, last year I had better results and was stronger but my workout routine was in the afternoon before work. Now I only have time after work and am usually tired. I didn't even do cardio last year and was stronger and more defined.

The weeks I DO run 3-4 times, and do ab work, I DO see improvements, but once I miss a few days, it's gone. It's like the guy who played the main character in Kung-Pow. He was ripped and on the atkins but said that missing a day of the diet was enough to actually lose definition or having sugar. I guess it takes alot of work if your body isn't the exact type like Brad Pitt.

I've also heard that if you prepare and do HIIT training that you should see almost immediate results as opposed to jogging for a long time at a moderate pace. Just try some things out and see what you feel. But the easiest thing would to NOT drink at all, and eliminate any sugar from your diet. (except natural or sugar added to foods that are already good for you.) So no sweets, or pop and such. That'll make a big change. I've also heard that it's much easier to see 6 pack if you get to 10%-6% body fat. I'm at 11% so that might explain somethings. I have a feeling that when I start the trooper training that it'll kill me so much that i'll probably be forced into a 6-pack with their workout routines.

What's your workout regiment like from before you had a 6 pack to when you finally made it? What kind of diet are you on and what's your general metabolism like?

Well, if you want to loose fat and gain had muscle in your obliques, your gonna have to eat and exercise.

Start off by eating 5-6 meals a day.
I don't mean to eat foods like hamburgers and pizza 5 times a day.
I mean eat egg whites in the morning, between breakfast and lunch, drink a protein shake.
For lunch, eat some chicken with veggies. Between lunch and dinner, drink another protein shake.
For dinner, eat fish or chicken breast with veggies.
The more protein you consumed, the faster your metabolism will run burning unwanted fat.
Drink about a gallon of water a day to flush out the fat and your body needs it. Your body is about 78% water.
Stay away from sugars and carbs 5-6 hours prior to your sleep.
Its ok to have some fat and carbs during the day. Remember, your body will balance it out.
Exercise. Do many reps and sets in the areas you want to improve.
If you want abs, you have to use the muscle that you have in your abs to give it some tone. You need to "sqeeze" your stomach whenever doing an ab crunch. It burns and helps burns the fat in that area. Try to do more thn 200 crunches a day. Then if you feel you can do more, then do so. Don't forget to run. Cardio is important. Cardios helps prevent fat storage in your body.
And sleep 8 hous a day, sleeping is important if you want to get toned.
Anything else, let me know and good luck.

Ok, I dont drink that often. I havent drank anything in about 5 months, and when I do drink I drink alot (6-12 pack of 12oz bottles), but I do it very very rarely - I may drink 3-4 times a year...

But I DO drink coca-cola like crazy - I go thru about a 12 pack of 12oz cans a day. Now that you said that, I really do think this is whats holding me back. hehe. damn - i didnt even think about that.

Its gonna be hard as hell to quit drinking cokes... I am addicted to not just caffine, but the carbonation... I remember I tried to quit once, so I decided to go to caffine free shit and I had headaches for 2 weeks, then I was finally unaddicted so then I stopped drinking the cokes (even the caffine free ones) and I started flipping out on people. I became really irritated and I would yell at people for the smallest of things. I started shaking after like 3 days. the 4th day I stayerd in bed all day and was throwing up and everything. My kidneys started to feel like they were gonna burst. Then on the 5th day it was the same, no better, no worse, so I picked up 1 can and drank it to feel better. 10 minutes later I grabbed another. Then another. And next thing ya know I'm back to a 12 pack a day of cokes..... And not caffine free ones either. The regular ones.

Hmm... This is gonna be a long road ahead of me to quit those. Maybe I should consult a doctor to see how to make all that pain less painful or whatever.

Billy I use to drink that much as well-coke all the way-but you HAVE to drop that first. If you need caffiene and carbanation like I did-go to Diet Mtn. Dew.

Yeh dude, Coke is really bad for you. Too much sugar!
About 47 grams of sugar. That's about eating 4-5 twinkies.
Try Diet Coke/ Diet Coke is not that bad in taste.

I cant eat that much... I literally cant do it. My body has grown acustomed to eating so little I cant force myself to eat anymore that maybe a sandwich or two a day. If I try I will get sick. I intake 0% sugar (except for whats in cokes). I dont eat sweets, I hate them. The onloy thing I really eat is dinner. Sometimes I will have a sandwich for lunch, but most of the time I give my sandwich away to a homeless guy near my job. My stomach is not big enough to hold anything else because my metabolism is super slow and things will just sit there for a few days before leaving my body.

Also, I thought protein builds cells... I may be wrong here... But thats what I have always thought. And while we are on that subject, how would I increase my motabilism ? It is slow as all freakin hell. I can go 2 weeks without eating then eat a sandwich and I wont shit it out for another 3 days... lol, weird I know...

I was just thinking that - its what made me come back here. lol. So water is a plus, it will flush things out like I thought. It also might help with those cramping pains if I actually replace the cokes with water. Last time I dont think I drank anything at all... hmm...

I cant run. My knees wont let me. Well, I can run, but only for short distances (i.e. in a baseball game). but there is no way I can run flat out for a mile. Even jogging I cant do. I am bow legged (i think thats what its called - my bottom half of my legs turn outward, so if I was to stick my knees straight forward and stand straight up my feet will be pointing out at about a 45% angle) so that prevents me from running too much... But all the other excercises I can do with no problem. I love a challenge actually. I like to lift more, or work more than I physically can. Its a really cool feeling to bypass your own limits. hehe. But I know I know its not good to do that. So I will take it easy with the exercises.

BTW - I just gave away my last 3 cokes I had in my lunch bag.. I think I will start hanging around the water cooler a bit more lol

I will keep my progress updated in this thread on how I am doing. And if anyone has any other advice to offer, I am all ears.

Yeah, you HAVE to have water. There's a point where it can give you a bloated feeling, but it's better to have too much then not enough. Pop water doesn't count because your body uses that up so fast to compensate for the excess sugar/salt and other crap in coke. It doesn't matter if you don't eat sweets if you drink coke since there's so much freaking sugar in it. It's all about moderation and excersize. Like Betty and me can drink pop sometimes and sweets sometimes and keep a consistent weight, but we work out enough to do so.
