| I'll chime in. All of last year I was an unofficial essay tutor, I wrote people's essays for lots of money. (I charged a grad student at Stanford $1800 for a 30 page term-paper - rush job.) But last summer I worked as a Loan Officer for a mortgage company. I made bank, I got enough cash to cover textbooks + food + housing + tuition over 2 months, smooth talking skills go a long way, I tell ya.
But school's starting after this weekend and I won't have the hours to be a loan officer, since I tend to be busy enough with an overload of classes and a vibrant social life. I'll be coaching speech & debate for my old high school and I'll probably tutor SATs again on an individual basis. Cal's gonna take up the rest of my time.
Oh, and I'll probably still write essays for $$$, just not for my friends because they're smart and it pisses me off watching them beg me to write essays for them. One of them always did his English papers with pride, then I wrote two for him cause he was busy with lots of tests and his shift got doubled, once the teacher made them both model papers for the class, he's suddenly lost faith in his own writing and begs me for mine. So no more writing for friends. |
