| | Well, everyone knows about my clarinet playing. That's pretty high on the priority list. I'm also learning guitar right now (getting taught by a friend who studied it in college and is PHENOMINAL). I also work out and eat right (cause fitness is very big in my life).
My latest thing (that maybe you don't know about) is mountain biking. I go on trails in mountains at least twice a week and ride around town another two times a week. All in all I probably ride my brand new mountain bike (which is AWESOME) anywhere from 50 to 100 miles a week. I'm trying to get good enough to attempt the Colorado Trail in about two years (it's a 515 mile trail, self-supported. Which means you have to bring your own food, camping equipment, iodine tablets for water, etc. etc.)
And hopefully in about five or six years I'll be good enough to do the "Great Divide" trail. Longest mountain biking trail in the world. 2465 miles. A good mountain biker gets it done in about three months. http://www.mtbr.com/gdr/index.shtml
It's fun as hell and you can go through the woods and see awesome scenery (I've seen so many deer and amazing plants and things. The other day my buddy saw a bear. Just awesome!)
Not to mention (like mentioned in the previous thread) wanna get into skydiving once I have a FT job and am set in my ways and have extra cash.

| | | Biking is good... Maybe look into some classes or programs at a fitness club or the community college. I reccomend kick boxing- that's pretty fun! Dance is also a ton of fun! | |

seriously, it's good that you got into working out and lifting. that is something that will make you feel good about yourself and help to improve your health at the same time. i try to work out atleast 3-4 times a week, but with school and work, it gets pretty hard. other than that, if we have the time, me and my friends like to play tennis to get some cardio into our lives. raverboy

My workout philosophy is "As long as I'm doing SOMETHING, it's better than the alternative which is doing NOTHING." Hence when I work out, I don't keep count of how many pushups/pullups/chinups/situps I do. I don't keep count of how many miles I bike (hence the 'estimate'). I just go until I get really really tired and I figure that's more than your average joe does so I'm still ahead of the game. Plus that way you don't get all ticked off if you can't do as many as you did last week, or if you find yourself 'stuck' at a certain number. This way I get a workout AND avoid the dissapointment at the same time!

| | | Thats so true, something is better than nothing! Guess what? Im going to a body building competition with Iron in a week. How cool that will be, either A. it will motivate my ass or B. Depress the hell out of me. Either way, I think its going to be fun to see how this all works.
Oh and Ive decided on my hobbie. I have always wanted to paint, started with the ceramics, but got boring, I want to try my free hand at abstract painting. With tons of color and just where ever my hand leads...to paint freely!

| | | alexi..that's a good theory if you want to keep in shape, but if you're looking to get either bigger or cut, you kinda have to know how much you pushed in the last exercise to see if you're seeing better results. raverboy

But I'm aiming just to stay in shape. And I now realize (after looking in the mirror) that I've improved. So so far, so good.
