There was an IRC channel I was part of a little over a year ago that did something like this and it was pretty fun. Once a year someone from the boards that had a big house and/or property would host the party. Alot of people from the channel would show up from all over the world for this 3 day party.

I'm just so bored atm and was wondering what others thought about starting up this kind of tradition for the forum ? We could all (well not all but some) meet face to face and just have a good time.

What ya think ?

I have met Breezy.
And I damn near met Jane but her work sucks her life away.

ah - i didn't mean a 1 on 1 meeting - I was talking about a group meeting up together. but meh - it was prolly a bad idea anyways.

I tried to get a 4 person meeting together. By the time it occured it was just me and Breezy. Such meetings are highly unlikely.

you know there must be something we can do tho.. like all meet here at once at the same time .. or something.. lets keep thinking about this ... when there is a willl .. there is a way...

And so is Lucid ain't he? But I hope to be able to go to the USA to further my education. That'd be in a couple of years though after my military service unless I get a certain scholarship...

Ditto here with the IRC. Mine just chooses not to work. I have java enabled and everything is up to date. I guess my computer and loveforums chat applet just hate each other. Mayhaps they're feuding.

Not a bad idea, just not enough people to implement it. For instance, in order for a decent amount of people to show up (let's say 10), you need to have ten dedicated forum people that live within a certain distance of each other (how far would YOU be willing to drive? fifty? a hundred miles?) and all wanting to do it. I think we may have only a FEW more than ten dedicated people as it is. So what are the chances of those ten people all living within a one hundred mile radius? Practically zilch.

Not a bad idea (I think it'd be neat), but just not doable given the odds.

I had actually thought of this before as well, but didn't want to bring it up until I had some time in to be considered part of the "in" crowd, or "dedicated forum" people as Alexi put it. In the short time I've been here, though, I think there are at least ten..let me name them off the top of my head and see how many I can count:

That's just off the top of my head..who else can you think of..and of these people, how about an availability count.

I for instance, am ready and willing to do this. In fact, I was also going to suggest the one on one thing..if anyone would host me, I'd love to visit other cities/countries, and I'd return the favor if ever (though I don't know "¿why?") you wanted to visit the southwest..hey, or Mexico!
