| | Of course. You can "love" someone without being "in love" with them. Like I love my friend Luis but I am not in love with him. I just care about him as a friend. That is all.

| | | I don't think there is a difference. I think "in" is just used to inhance it like say a adjective you put infront of a noun. It makes no sense to give the word love a different meaning just because the word "in" is in-front. This is the first time I hear someone actually saying that it matters.
...You would have to tell your loved one...oh wait sorry...."in loved one" everytime they come in "hey honey I In love you". Does that make any sense? to me it doesn't.

| | | Actually I believe there is a difference... I love my mother, but I'm certainly not in love with her. In love, has more lust, passion, intrigue... you know. Love is just a care for someone. Love is common... being in love, is not so easy to find.

Infatuation, attachment, lust, love, etc. I think most ppl can find either one, but the combination, this is what is really rare.
Again, those links I gave you. Esp. the 2nd one, doesn't provide advice. It attempts to distinguish between "love" and "in love" in biological terms. You don't have to agree, but it definitely makes interesting reading. | |

It makes things only more confusing now because its an extra definition on the list . Now the world has to argue what the difference between love, infatuation, lust, obsession, attachment, and now the new IN love mean.

| | | I was gonna make a thread but since this is already on the topic of love... Do you think it's best to have loved and lost? Than to have never loved at all?
My answer?
I would rather have never loved at all.
