Meh, It means that we create history. By making our choices now.. they will become history/past eventually.

Did I miss something? I didn't see that there was a question, and really, the first post did not make clear what it was you are asking. Are you asking whether or not we agree that history is subjective, or are you asking whether or not the past can be changed?

Obviously, the past cannot be changed, but because history IS subjective (meaning that truth depends on perspective), the way we VIEW history can be changed or altered. Is that what you were trying to say?

Ok since I didn't really answer what you wanted, I'll try again.

In reality, you cannot change the past..as the moment has "passed". However, what you can do in certain situations is make "peace" with the past, if it has haunted you. The past makes you who you are today, and today you are preparing for the future.

Okay, let's make this a tad little more intresting.

I do believe it's possible to rectify the past. Does anyone care to disagree with this notion?

Seems people are having problems. (Where is donut when you need him!?!)

My argument FOR that the past can be changed.

1st type of history: History as a recollection of personal events.

Scenario: Parents are out to work and your home alone to make breakfast. You decide to have a bowl of cereal. You go to school and someone asks you the Q, “What did you have for breakfast?” and you reply with “toast”. Then you get hit by a car and die. When the police are collecting evidence and then asks one of your friends what you had for breakfast and then replies with "Toast", history has successfully been changed.

No it's hasn't, a lie doesn't = reality because it never happened in the first place. Furthermore, that lie didn't effect his death..therefore it really has nothing to do with time itself.

Ya with that example all that would happen is the coroner would find out what was really in his body and the toast thing wouldnt apply anymore. They would know it wasnt toast hehehe
