Fras - this obviosly can go on forever, and then Cybog is going to have to empty out the trash when this thread becomes pointless, but let me give you my honest opinion.

I'm hindu. I'm not religious at all. In fact - I don't even believe in God (well I kind of do, but that's another thread, and another day). My Great Grandad lives with us. He can barely move, but he is a very religious person. As you may well know, the swastika is a religious symbol in hindu religion. We have one on our front door.

A few years ago, a mechanic came home to fix something. He looked at the symbol, and started to get emotional, and inquisitive. We tried to calm him down. That wasn't the first time, a lot of people have questioned that symbol in front of our house. We took it down.

I guess I share your sentiments. But we cannot deny, that the symbol does indeed cause people (understandably) a great deal of hurt and pain.

But I appreciate your view on advertising the sign of the swastika as a sign of life and good luck. Although I think it's a failing battle, I do appreciate you letting people know the REAL meaning of the swastika.
