recently, i just learned of a member who has been banned from this place...

...turns out he was quite 'crazy'. BUT...you all STILL remembered him! If I left tommorow, would you all remember me? If YOU left tommorow, and NEVER came back to this forum, would you even stop, and take a few seconds to wonder what other members were up to at the time...
...would you wonder about NEW members, and whether they 'took' your place, and the reg's eventally forgot about you?


and of course, the flip side is that you stay here forever. as the years pass, this forum holds more and more meaning, as do the people you converse with here...

...how long, is a 'long time'? 2 years? 4? 10? 20?




and then, some would argue that it is important to 'take a break' from this place. what if i left one day, and logged back on two years later???

what if the regulars are GONE ??

what if they are still here, but forgot ME ??





what i'm trying to decipher, is: what is TRULY the significance of this forum, and what does it mean to you?

This thread sums you up. You were gone 8 ****ing days and tried to make your depature sound like you were heading to Iraq to personally pump oil and then carry it on your back from the Middle East.

What makes it really sad is that there were people who actually responded with a "OMG YOUR BACK!!!" as if you telling us you were going to leave had any kind of merit.
