| | | Can you love more than one person? Ok, before you think too much about the question at hand, let me tell you a story.
Ok lets say you have a child withsomeone, you love that child with all your heart. Then a few years later you have another child. You love that child with all your heart too, you love both of them with all of your heart, they dont have to share your love, it is not like you like each of them with half your hear - what im getting at is that your ability to love is infinite.
Now why cant your ability to love multiple people apply to others? Why is it assumed that man can only (romantically) love one person?
and do you believe it is possibile to love more than one person? I am trying to figure this out myself, that is why i am bringing this up. im so confused. | | Loveforum Breaktime | | | | Loveforum also recommend - Green tea - Help in weight loss and decrease rate of getting cancer.

| | | I think the only thing preventing us from loving multiple people (after the newness of a relationship is gone) is social expectations and courtesy for our first spouse.

| | | hmmm that actually makes sense, because we love our first spouse we wouldnt want to hurt them, so it prevents us from loving another? that actually makes a lot of sense.
One follow up question though, if our first spouse wouldnt be hurt by my love for another, then what is there preventing the love for the second person?

| | | I think besides social restraints, I think the complexity of loving another partner makes it almost impossible due to human nature. Even if the first partner was okay with such a thing, the social ladder comes into play. One would think your first love/partner would be "ranked" higher than your second love/partner. Trying to treat them as equals is nearly impossible. | |

| | | Would they need to be treated as equals? Maybe you could have #1 Wife and then any number of others.
Okay, I'm being a bit flippant, but not completely. I could see loving two different people at the same time.

| | | Whether parents admit it or not, their love does vary from child to child.
Don't believe otherwise, that's idealist bullshit.
