I hate the fact that people can just randomly look my name up on Google and find this place. I just had a moron on another forum look my name up and find this place. It sickens me.
Advantages: - More privacy
- Forums will grow more effectively if people have to join
- LoveForum doesn't get hacked as soon as a vB security exploit comes out
Disadvantages:
None.

I must admit that the appeal of posting on certain other forums is that there is a feeling of community and privacy, while here on LF it kind of feels like I'm posting on a billboard.

| | | I am not that worried about the privacy thing with my nick as the first thing Google shows is a city name Jurupa (I am not joking either). But I also take steps to make sure my real name and stuff are hidden and are private as well.
But in some ways I do agree with Z that the forums should be made private and you have to register to see the posts. Ya it may make people not want to join, but there other forums that do this as well. Heck there are ones you have to pay to gain access to even. And some you have to pay a membership fee.
I also agree with Giga about the community thing as well. And with outsiders that can look in easly and do profiles on us (its not that hard actually), it can put us in danger. | |
