| | | So you don't waste our time with 2 year old threads that should have died already just to boost your post count.

| | | MVP.. its sucks when you run through here dragging old stuff up that no one reads .. you let all the new peoples thread get burried and no one responds to them.. Have a little more respect then that. I mean, I value your opinion but no when your just doing it to piss people off.

| | | To boost my post count? I could care less about my post count. People listen to my advice because they agree w/ what I have to say or want to hear me say something outrageous, not because I have x # of posts. Also, just because the threads are old doesn't mean that someone else doesn't have the same question that needs to be asked. Thats why my policy on answering posts is answer it as if its recent. | |

| | | I think that old topics SHOULD be read by new people. Often people don't spend the time they should looking at older posts or searching for posts related to their issues. Older topics, particularly ones that deal with a 'general' rather than specific issue should be read.
For example, the topics about your height versus what you date. This is often a debate in real life and new members, while they may not ask for advice dealing with height and dating, may still be able to learn something from reading them.
However if the topic lists a PARTICULAR situation about ONE particular person, then that's not going to help anyone and should be closed.
MVP is trying to bring up old threads because he feels that people, whether they were looking for it or not, could learn something or at least gain a new point of view on certain aspects of dating. I agree that some old threads should be viewed. Not all mind you, but at least ones that have common issues to all of us.

| | | People can still read closed threads, but theres no need to give personal response to someone who hasn't been to this forum in 1-2 years.

| | | yeah.. that would be cool.. after about 4 months with no posts they should go to an Archive file.. that way you can read them and maybe even post and make it new if it pertains to what you are asking about...
I dont know.. I just was bummed when I noticed that there were a bunch of old threads that no one has answered and the new threads from first time posters with problems got burried..
